In memory of Barbara, the Queen Bee of our Beehive

Dearest Barbara,

Shimmery are these words, they’re written through the kind of teary eyes marked by profound sadness and privileged humility.

The matriarch of two families, that’s how we’ll measure you. Your children and their children love as though loving comes naturally. As did you. You did more for others than you did for yourself. You worked for what you had and understood the challenges of living. So mothering came naturally, even toward this 37 year-old when she walked into your life. I, too, am ever the better from having benefited from some of your wise words, sage advice, and gentle comfort.
